This volume will provide an authoritative, state of the art overview of the field of intergroup processes. The volume is divided into nine major sections on cognition, motivation, emotion, communication and social influence, changing intergroup relations, social comparison, self-identity, methods and applications. Assuming a level of sophistication and prior background in social psychology, each of the 25 chapters has been written by a leading researcher in that particular field to provide both an overview of classic and current research as well as a description of future trends within the area. The chapters are liberally referenced throughout and include post-chapter annotated bibliographies so readers can access original research articles in order to further their study in the field.
